Cars in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police reported they were notified by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau smeared with reddish liquid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Vehicles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued fluid.

The fluid had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they reported.

Police then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under regulations banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say early analysis indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are currently not aware of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.

A senior representative commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and had to be solved rapidly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter focusing on residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
